Three principles I default to every day.
Ship the smallest demoable slice
Every story should reach a stakeholder demo within the sprint. Big-bang releases bury risk; weekly demos surface it.
Write the migration first
Schema and data shape decisions outlive features. I draft migrations and rollback paths before the code that depends on them.
Make trade-offs visible
Every PR notes what was deferred, what was assumed, and what would invalidate the choice. No silent debt.
